1. What can I expect at Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience

Barbie™ encourages the limitless potential in every child. To bring this to life for UK audiences for the first time, Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is made up of different career zones for visitors to try out.

In addition to the career zones, there are also seating areas, an ice-lolly stand, a greenscreen photo opportunity, a small Barbie souvenir shop and selfie opportunities.

All children will have an activity booklet which they can get stamped with the different career stamps as they explore the experience.

2. How much are tickets

Tickets for Barbie You Can Be Anything:The Experience at Meadowhall cost £15.00 per ticket on weekends and school holidays (peak) and £12.50 on term time weekdays (off peak)

Tickets are required for all attendees over 2 years old, both adult, young person and child.

3. Can I just turn up on the day and buy tickets

All tickets should be pre-booked online wherever possible. We highly recommend advance booking online to avoid disappointment although there will be some tickets available for purchase on the door subject to availability. 

You can book online anytime up to a session start time, and you can also book at the reception desk on site. 

Please note we only accept debit or credit card or contactless payments – no cash.

4. Do babies and small children have to have a ticket

Children 2 years of age and under do not require a ticket, all other children will require a ticket. You may be asked for proof of child’s age at reception.

5. Do children need to be accompanied by an adult and are there limits to the number of children that can attend per adult

Yes. All children 14 years and under MUST be accompanied by an adult ticket holder who is aged 18 years and over. Anyone attending the event may be required to verify their age.

6. If I cancel my booking do I get a refund

No, you can however amend the date and time of the booking yourself, subject to availability.  In order to be able to amend your booking you will need to have registered for a ticketing user account. This can easily be done while purchasing tickets and you will be prompted to do so at the end of your transaction.

PLEASE NOTE Amendments to a booking must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your original schedule start time.

7. Can I amend the names on the booking

Bookings will be made under the name of the person booking for your group. You do not need to change the name on the booking as long as the persons attending have the confirmation email and/ or QR code and know the booking name and that the child and adult numbers correspond with the tickets purchased.

8. What is the age range for the Event

Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is an event for the whole family and is suitable for all ages. There are activities for everyone to take part in. The experience is most suitable for children under the age of 14 and their families, but everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the event!

9. Can I bring my pram/buggy in a buggy park inside the venue

We actively encourage baby-wearing and suggest that you leave the buggy in the car due to space constraints within the experience which is over two floors. There is a small buggy park on the ground floor, but it is not attended, so be prepared to bring all of your valuables with you through the experience. We cannot take any responsibility for belongings left unattended. 

10. Do I have to print the ticket from the email

No, you may show it on your smart mobile or make a note of the booking name and your reference number. In the interest of saving trees, we recommend not printing your ticket!

11. Can I change my booking date or time

Amendments to a booking must be made at least 48 hours in advance of your original schedule start time, subject to availability. If there is no availability for future dates, tickets are non-refundable. To amend your booking, you will need to have registered for a ticketing user account. This can easily be done while purchasing tickets and you will be prompted to do so at the end of your transaction.

If you have not registered for an account, our team may be able to assist you. Contact our team via the email Barbie@bakehousefactory.co.uk. Please note that emails will be responded to within 48-hours.

12. How long does the event last

Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is a 90-minute experience. This gives you time to explore all the career zones. Please allow 10 minutes prior to your session for check-in and allow for some time at the end for purchasing any souvenirs of your visit.

Upon arrival, all visitors will receive a time-coded wristband which will allow our staff to help to guide you through the experience.

13. Can I take photos or film inside the venue

There are selfie opportunities at certain points throughout the experience. We encourage all of our visitors to take as many photos as you like and share them with our hashtag #BarbieYCBATheExperience. There will also be opportunities to purchase special souvenir photographs of your visit at the end of each experience.

14. What time should I arrive for my booking

Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before your booked session time.

15. What if I’m late for my booking

If you are over 10 minutes late for your booking time, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to come into the venue. You may need to buy new tickets to return at a later time or on another day (subject to availability.) There will be no refunds if you miss your booked session so please allow sufficient time for parking etc.

16. How many tickets can I book

Each session has a capacity of up to 30 people and you can book as many available tickets as you like within that session time.

If you wish to add additional tickets to your order at a later date then these can be purchased separately via the ticket platform, subject to availability. Our maximum capacity for each session is 30 ticket holders but don’t worry: if there are no other tickets available for that session, please book in the following session and you can meet up inside.

17. Can I pay for my tickets with cash

Sorry, we can’t accept cash. Only card payments are accepted.

18. What happens if a session or the event is cancelled

If your session is cancelled by the organisers, we will endeavour to rebook you onto another session. If there are no further sessions available or you are not able to attend any alternative dates offered, we will refund the cost of your tickets minus any booking fees.

If the event is cancelled your tickets will be refunded minus any booking fees.

19. Is this a walk through or seated experience

Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is a walk-through experience and is wheelchair accessible. There is also seating within the venue.

20. Are there toilet facilities at the venue

The nearest public toilets are located on the second floor across from Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience. Visitors needing to use the toilet facilities during their time with us will be able to leave and re-enter the attraction by showing their wristband. This will only be valid within the 90-minute time slot associated with their ticket.

Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience venue is well-ventilated throughout and is cleaned regularly in between sessions and at the end of every day for everyone’s wellbeing.

21. Can I leave and re-enter the experience later in the day

Your ticket is valid for 90 minutes from the booking time stated. After this point, you will not be able to re-enter the experience and tickets/ wristbands will not be valid later that day or any day thereafter. Wristbands are valid for your session only and are non-transferable.

22. Can I eat or drink in the venue

In the interests of health and safety, we request that you do not eat in the venue other than the ice-lollies which are available for sale. Bottled water is allowed for refreshment whilst within the venue.

23. Do you have sessions for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The first two sessions on Wednesday's and Sundays are dedicated SEND Sessions that will be quieter with no music or flashing lights and a reduced capacity of visitors. Please refer to the SEND sessions section of the ticket booking site for dates and times.

Places at SEND sessions are limited and are adapted specially for our guests who might find other sessions inaccessible. If this doesn’t sound like you, please consider booking for another time. 

Ticketing information: We offer free PA/Essential companion tickets, so if you are supporting someone with additional needs and require a companion ticket, please select a Carer Ticket.

Please bring a copy of one of the following with you:.

• A Nimbus Access Card with the +1 symbol. For more information, visit the Access Card website.

• Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CVI certificate.)

• A personal letter from the GP, community nurse or social worker.

• Benefit award letters.

 • Copy of a blue badge (we'd need to see both sides.)

There will be no strobe lighting, loud or sudden noises or loud special effects in the experience.

24. Is the venue inside or outside

This is an indoor experience and will be signposted within the Meadowhall Centre.

25. Will there be any photography or filming inside the venue

At times there may be the presence of a professional photographer or videographer inside the venue. By purchasing tickets, you agree to photos or videos being taken and to the possibility that these may be used by the organisers to promote this or future events. If for any reason you do not wish for you or any member of your group to be recorded or photographed, please notify our team on arrival and we will ensure your wishes are adhered to.

26. Are pets allowed inside the venue

Pets are not permitted inside the venue, except for registered assistance animals.

27. Is smoking or vaping permitted inside the venue

Smoking and vaping is not permitted inside the venue.

28. Can I use my mobile phone inside the venue

In order to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the experience, please ensure all mobile phones are either turned off or on silent and we ask guests to avoid making phone calls whilst in the experience.

29. We are no longer able to attend – can I get a refund

We apologise but we cannot offer refunds but bookings can be amended to another date (subject to availability) up to 48 hours before your booked session.

Please make sure you register for an account when purchasing your tickets to enable you to access and make changes to your booking.

30. I can’t attend, can I give my tickets to another person

You are welcome to pass your tickets to a third party if you are unable to attend your booked session.  If you choose to give your ticket to another person, you do NOT need to notify the venue of the change of name, they will just need to have the booking name, booking reference number and QR code. Only the first use of ticket QR codes will be permitted entry.

We will be unable to help with any enquiries relating to booked tickets from persons who are not the named person who bought the original tickets

We cannot accept liability for tickets passed to a third party or any transactions between third parties.

31. I have bought tickets from another person, and I have not received them

Apologies but we cannot accept any responsibility or liability for tickets NOT purchased directly from our ticket site or website.  We will be unable to help with any enquiries specifically related to booked tickets from persons who are not the named person who bought the original tickets.

32. Can I buy photos and souvenirs at the end of my visit

Part of the experience includes the opportunity to have a special photo taken against a greenscreen depicting different career choices as part of Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience. You will have the option to purchase copies of these photographs at the end of each experience as a souvenir. There will also be a variety of souvenir items that you can also purchase such as dolls, bespoke keyrings, limited edition t-shirts and tote bags.

33. Will I be able to reorder my photo at a later date following my visit

Unfortunately, photos from Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience can only be purchased as part of the event. Photos and merchandise must be paid for on the day of the event. Photos will not be kept on file and are deleted after 48 hours.

34. Are the experiences accessible for wheelchair and mobility aid users

35. Where will I find the venue

Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is located in the former Miss Selfridge and Topshop / Topman Shops; the reception is on the ground floor of Park Lane Meadowhall Centre, Sheffield S9 1EL.

36. Where can I park

The nearest car park to Barbie You Can Be Anything: The Experience is the Pink and Green Car Park at Meadowhall.
